In the centre of the island covering an area of
9337 hectares, the highest point is Chionistra
or Olympos (1952 m) and the lowest is Moni forest
(700m). The area is magical and suitable for hiking,

One of the first sights on leaving the airport
is the beautiful salt lake, home to colonies of
flamingos in the cooler months. Beside the lake
is the Hala Sultan Tekesi, built to the memory
of Prophet Mohammed's aunt. In Larnaca itself
the old town is alive and bustling with shoppers.
It has a pedestrian area, Zenon Kitieos, with
many bars and restaurants. Visit the 17th century
church of St.Lazarus with its own Byzantine museum.
Down at the waterfront
pay a visit to the medieval museum in the grounds
of Larnaca fort and have a leisurely stroll along
the palm lined promenade to the marina.

We cannot recommend highly enough the benefits
of simply wandering around the villages and exploring
on foot. This is the best way to discover the
local atmosphere and hidden gems of restaurants
and shops. You never know what's around the next
corner, or when a doorway will open up onto a
flower filled courtyard. So, put on some suitable
footwear, make sure you wear a hat, sunglasses
and sunscreen and carry a bottle of water with
you at all times.
This is just a
selection of the activities available during your
stay in Cyprus. However, you may be quite happy
sitting by the pool and enjoying the sunshine.
Whatever you choose to do we hope you have a wonderful
holiday.
